The "Long Field" is in its third and last year in arable rotation before returning it to grass.

It is 3.14h.a. The last crop grown was spring oats which have now been harvested, and the field has now been re-seeded with grass.

They are normally either stored and used on the farm, or they may be sold to producers of breakfast cereals.

The straw produced by the harvesting is retained on the farm.
