Last year was the first year for this
event, which has become a 3-day celebration of food and drink. Mainly
local foods were on display representing local shops in Nantwich town,
farm shops local brewery’s etc..
We
were helping our old friend Johnny Ball who was attending with the NFU
trailer here he is in action handing out recipe leaflets featuring celebrity
chef Gary Rhodes.
Also
pictured helping is another long-standing member of the Cheshire NFU
Public relations committee Tom Bunn.
The guest celebrity was Clarissa Dixon-Wright
another chef famous for the TV series called two fat ladies and more
recently Clarissa and the countryman.
Besides
signing books and demonstrating cookery she found time to pose for this
picture with Simon. When we got home we realised what it says on his
tee shirt.
Clarissa was a great sport even conducting
the brass band at one point.
This
picture taken by Sarah stood on Simon’s shoulders shows just how
busy the marquee had become.
Finally
another picture of Johnny’s trailer. I think we needed some wet
sponges or eggs to throw at the heads sticking out of those holes.
