THE NATURE REPORT
October 2003
Home page

This month I have to confess that we have, for various reasons only a short nature report.

Our main stars for the month have to be the trees.

This year the autumn colours have been incredible, with a tremendous range of colours that have covered the spectrum.

Particularly impressive have been the oaks. These have, at times had the appearance of being made of gold (if only).

The reason for these spectacular colours is in part due to the weather that we have been experiencing during the summer and early autumn.

It has not ony been the leaves that have given tree a spectactular look.

As the sun set one evening it gave this tree (right) the look of being on fire.

While this one on the left wears a crown of fire.

Next month we have an interesting report from down by the banks of the river Dane.

See you next month PHIL
