Our piggery consists of 4 pens each being 4m square.
When the pigs first arrive they will occupy just 1 pen but as they grow we will split them into groups of 6 pigs depending on size.
As you see the piggery is situated near the farmhouse as in days past the pigs were fed on scraps of food from the house which were boiled first to prevent any disease.
The boiling was done in one of two coal fired boilers which were situated in a utility porch at the rear of the house
When our family moved to Greenheyes this boiler was still in place.
