Heifer BanksAt 1.09ha. Heifer Banks is the steepest field on the farm.

As with the Middle Banks, Heifer Banks forms a part of the Contryside Stewardship Scheme (CSS) here at Greenheyes

Under the CSS regulations, the weeds that can be seen growing in the field (no, not the black and white object, that's a cow:-) have to be cleared by hand as the use of herbicides is forbidden.

As you can see from the picture on the right they can grow quite tall, in this example they were approaching 1.5 meters (about 5 feet) tall
