After the flowers of spring we now have the young fruits appearing on many of our plants. As we often look at the hedges here are some pictures of the Blackthorn fruit these are called Sloes and this year seems to be a large crop.

Sloes Foxglove Dogrose

Also pictured here are some foxgloves in full bloom and the dog rose on the hedge.

This door on one of the calf pens has been open for months but when I decided to shut it we found this (Roll you mouse over the image) Bat roosting behind it so we had to leave the door as it was.

Talking of mice, We always have some mice around our farm buildings and this one had found its way into the pigs corn bucket. I released him after photos much to the dog's disgust (he had a lucky escape!).

This little one is a young vole (you can tell by his short tail and rounder face) Simon spotted him on the orchard.

As we mentioned before we also have lots of Rabbits and here are just a few.

Last month we pictures some insects as we said we don't know much about them but here are some more pictures as before if you know the names please get in touch.

HAVE FUN...

In the vet nary stalls the swallows have been busy and here are 5 youngsters just before they fledged.
As we showed earlier the moorhen on the pond lost her nest however she has now raised 5 chicks here is one heading for cover in the bushes at the side (the rest beat Paul with the camera).
This month we seem to have many small birds learning to fly around our yard and the sparrow hawk is also busy to their peril Simon and I watched it take a young wagtail last week. However that's nature.

More next month PHIL.
